Just a 7-hour drive away from Dhaka, in the district of Sunamganj, is the home of one of Bangladesh’s most prized natural assets, the Tanguar Haor. As one of Ramsar’s Wetlands of International Importance, Tanguar Haor is recognized internationally as Bangladesh’s most important freshwater wetland. The haor, spanning nearly 30 kilometers, is home to a plentiful biodiversity, with about 140 types of fish and nearly 284 species of birds, with as much as 100 migratory Asian bird species.
